This month is flyinggggg!!

Can't believe next week is Thanksgiving..  This month is flying by!!!

It sure has been a crazy wonderful month. My body finally feels back into routine getting my water, meals, AND  REFEEDS in. I am not in prep, but eating clean and within reason.. and hitting all my macros.  It is building season ;)

I have had some gains in the gym, which is awesome, this building season is great! I love lifting heavier each week and feeling sore.. can't wait to bring a better package to the stage next season!

This past week my hip was a little off .. not sure what I did, but added the extra stretching and a few more yoga classes and I feel good. I tried out two  new yoga studios this week Evolution Mind and Body and Core Power Yoga, they were both awesome and I will be going back! I also went to my favorite bikram yoga studio in chelmsford, and tomorrow my teammate Amanda and I are going for a sweaty yoga session as well!! #loveyoga!!

I lifted legs this morning and so far the hip feels good.. legs on the other hand.. well it was leg day.. I am SORE, and I didn't exactly go light... how I will feel tomorrow .. hahaha. :)

Alsooo .. SOOOO super excited for my  some of the Body Ambition Team .. they are flying out today to compete in Fitness America Weekend 2013 in Las Vegas this weekend!!! They have all worked so hard in prepping for this competition and I know they will all do so well! Janelle always has us prepared 110%! I must say I wish I was heading out to Vegas with the team to compete, but that is just another goal I will tackle when I know I am ready and prepared with a great package!

It was actually the first show I sat and watched, I have only competed in two shows. Watching the WBFF show, has definitely made me think about competing in it next year. The WBFF is two weeks before the FAP Foxwoods show, so could be a busy month .. time will tell, lots of goals and plans in the up coming year! For now just sweating, and pushing through this months ..

NOVEMBER!

Well November is here.. My LEAST favorite month, well maybe except for today - I will take my extra hour of sleep! ... this picture can pretty much explain why ..

We go from colorful.. to dark and dreary..Bleh! Well that means lets set some goals..and crack this month out.. and the rest of the year. What are some of your goals?

Some of mine are:
  • Get SOME interviews
  • Enjoy the up coming holidays
  • Continue to lift heavier in the gym - BUILD BUILD
  • Yoga a few times a week
  • Have fun in the kitchen

So the last week I tried a lot of different recipes in the kitchen.. really spices things up - some of the different things I tried

Apple Cinnamon Chicken .. Recipe from one of my teammates Jessie, and it was so so good.. and so simple, just take chicken, spread with apple sauce and cinnamon bake it then add coconut oil!!

Pumpkin Muffins .. perfect little treat as well - and very simple!
Just take 1 cup pumpkin, 1 cup oat flour, 2 scoops protein powder, 4 egg whites, 1 teaspoon baking soda, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg - then baked 350 for 20 minutes!!

Egg White, Oat, Banana Roll Up - Made up the name but it worked!  and it was delicious - perfect for fueling for the gym! you could use any fruit that you wanted..
Its just 1 cup egg whites, 1/4 cup oats, and a few slices of banana cooked and I rolled it up into a "breakfast burrito"

Chocolate Mug Cake - I was craving chocolate a few nights in a row and needed a healthy way to supplement it so I didn't cave into the halloween candy in the house! So I made a mug cake.. and it totally did the trick! 1 scoop protein powder - i used my chocolate, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1 egg white, 1 teaspoon baking soda. Mix and put in the microwave for a minute! totally works for the chocolate craving.

Those are just a few of the different things I had throughout the week, not sure what is planned for this week, but I am sure I will come up with something!

I am ready to start this full week in November - I have my new workouts from coach, can't wait to begin them tomorrow. I took a rest day Saturday which is SO important for your body, and I definitely needed it.. today I did my full body slaughter workout and tomorrow I am starting my new month workouts! Fresh start to the week!

Happy Sunday Everyone.. Lets go Pats!! :)

Hope Everyone had a fabulous, fit weekend!!

Since I am just starting my blog back up.. if you want to follow me, I post a lot on IG MBrice8184, so feel free to follow me!

Just wanted to show you a few pics.. here is one.. from when I first met with Janelle and joined Body Ambition a year ago.. The next photo was my first show at foxwoods this past April Fitness New England, then the plain blue bikini was about six weeks out from show..(roughly) ..then till the last show Oct 5.

Hardwork - Determination

Proof, Hard work, and following the process works.. it does NOT happen overnight! I sweat, pushed the weights, eat clean, gave up things I loved.. I was after it.. and it paid off.. you want it - you need to work for it! Prepping meals, getting the water in, eating out of tupperware all the time..and in crazy places.. but it is worth it in the end!

So.. a year ago I was a marathoner.. now I am a Fitness Competitor.. HUGE change. If you go back a year, you can see I wrote about my back and forth decision about competing last April, and let me tell you so glad I did. After all joining Body Ambition.. was the best decision ever!

So stay tuned.. and follow me along, on my fitness journey, healthy living, job search.. and whatever else may come along! Obviously this is under major construction!

All Women & One Lucky Guy Half Marathon ..

Bethany, Kim, and I before the race

Another Half Marathon in the books for 2012, November 4 .. and the last one for the year!! The race was held in Newburyport, Ma.. was a new one to me, which I had never run before so I was pretty excited to run it. Kim was running again, and my friend Bethany was also signing up day of to run. I was excited to see Bethany since I hadn't seen her since Montreal!

I must admit the few days leading up to the half I was not feeling very good. I was getting my workouts in throughout the week, but I just wasn't feeling A-OK, and tis the season for the colds. Cold weather is here, change of seasons, and I hadn't received my flu shot yet.

It was an 11:00 race start so I got to sleep in a little bit, also got to push the clocks back an hour so scored an extra hour of sleep.. was perfect! Race Morning got up, had my typical pre-race meal .. oatmeal, banana, and pb.. relaxed got in the zone. Mom and I headed down to Newburyport for number pick up..it was COLD! Shirts we received were pretty cool.. nice and pink ...

I was getting pretty nervous once the race was beginning to start.. but as soon as 11:00 hit, and the took off.. I was in the zone..well so I thought...

I had a good pace till about my 5, my 5 hit, and I thought wow, I can not finish this - it might be my first DNF, I did not feel good, legs felt heavy.. and was not my race..but I had no idea how to get back to the school.. and didn't want to get to an emergency tent.. I figured overall pace on garmin was still okk.. just push through.. so that is what I did, then the hills came, my legs felt heavier and heavier.. I had just about enough of this race! Looking at my garmin, my pace was all screwy it kept reading incorrect pace, so then I got nervous.. that my average pace was wrong.. but I kept pushing through.. and just wanted to be done.

I kept getting closer to the finish at one point some guy yelled out.. you are the top 60 woman, so then I felt a  little better that I knew my garmin was on track .. and to push it to the end, and that is what I did. I finished with a 1:47 time, not a PR .. but I was pleased for how I was feeling, I placed 65/838 women. 10/117 in my age group. Not a bad overall day!

All donee!

One Lucky Guy!
